Hardware I have:

  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)
    • 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
    • 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
    • Macintosh HD\nIntel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB
    • C02ZK02BL40Y
  • Iphone 13
  • CanaKit Raspberry Pi 5 Starter Kit - Turbine Black

Some goals:

  • Build something based off Pauline Oliveros' Deep Listening concept
    • How can deep listening support a communal techno infrastructure
    • Listening Infrastructure?
    • Ear to brain?
    • If time is listening then space is understanding !!!
  • Use server Raspberry Pi
  • Make something that helps people / a project I am already connected to
    • for your upcoming class
    • make something that helps people listen to their lives

Project ideas:

  • Something that can be useful for my clients taking my online group intensive around my book, Care Manual

    • A music tool to cultivate deeper listening
    • I am always looking for ways to expand my consciousness and find myself returning to music again and again.
    • Connecting this idea that Pauline Oliveros has about expanding consciousness across space and time remind me of my idea, if time is listening then space is understanding.
      • Listening to our listening
      • Including silence in our understanding of listening
    • So, what kind of sonic server tool can I use that will enhance individual understanding as an embodied practice?
      • I have a website that I just built that I could build some kind of listening tool on?
      • I've created Youtube Playlists that contain video content for each lesson I will facilitate for my clients and could do a listening tool involving these videos?
      • Maybe some sort of sound library where clients/users can upload different sound files that have helped them develop their listening
      • Becoming like this sonic collage of deep listening
      • Create 9 deep listening presets that people can contribute to an ongoing body of deep listening sound making?
        • that will become a meditation sound piece once it reaches 60 minutes of sound?
        • host this part of the website on the raspberry pi?
        • facilitate creativity in life and art through meditation
      • Something between a sound input tool and an experiential learning activity built in?
      • Pros
        • ongoing and expands throughout space and time
      • Cons
        • Not sure how engaging / supportive it would be
      • Law of 3 Dispenser—helping folks get closer to their goals
      • Creating a tool on my website that could help someone figure out the third neutralizing force to their creation
        • Something I will be teaching my clients in the online group intensive is that anything you want to make always has 3 forces: active, passive and neutralizing forces that take the shape of a triangle
        • Neutralizing forces have something to do with spacetime/setting the transformation will occur in
          • so for example, you have the active force sperm and the passive force egg that transforms in the neutralizing setting womb
      • Pros
        • easy for other to use
        • support tech in making processes
      • Cons
        • works similar to AI?
        • requires background education on the law of 3

    \

  • Project questions

    • Which of these are server forward?
    • What would be my step-by-step process for making each?
    • If neither of these will pan out, is there something similar I could do?
    • What do I need to learn about my website/cargo collective to make this happen?
    • What are the gaps in my concept?

    \ Name ideas:

    • Listen Like Animals (sounds carry intelligence — Pauline Oliveros)
      • to listen like an animal is to receive
      • now we begin to think about a technology that consider the more-than-human world
    • Make like God
      • thinking about a technology that considers the Universe as community\n
